Muslin is a special fabric, very lightweight and with a texture similar to gauze, ideal for various uses with newborns and children. Muslin, in fact, can be used by mothers to swaddle babies in their first days of life, offering them the feeling of protection and containment that children need. Cotton muslin has breathable properties, making it ideal for a child, and can be used, after the child's initial stages of life, as a blanket or sheet, for use in the crib, cot, but also outdoors on warm days and in the carrycot. Muslin cloths are very large, and thanks to this generous size, they are used by mothers in various situations, such as breastfeeding, to cover the baby and herself, offering greater privacy. Muslin for newborns is often used as a cotton muslin blanket, as, despite being a very lightweight fabric, it manages to be warm in cold months and cool in warm months.
